Art historian, lecturer and critic. Educated at Sydney Teachers Coll. 1934-35; Uni. of Sydney 1945-53 (BA); Courtauld Inst. of Art and Warburg Inst., London, 1948-49; ANU 1953-4 (Ph.D.).
